Postell Pringle (who performs/records music under the sole moniker, POSTELL) is a proud native − born & raised − of Decatur, Ga./ATL, posessing extensive family roots throughout South/North Carolina. He currently resides on the planet known as Brooklyn/NYC.

Pos earned a B.A. in theatre from Bates College, where he was recipient of the Benjamin E. Mays Academic Scholarship and also honored with the Senseny Memorial Award for playwriting and performance. He furthered his training at the Marymount London Drama Conservatory at the Holborn Centre for Performing Arts in London, England, studying extensively with the finest instructors and professionals from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts [RADA]. After attending an astonishining Royal Shakespeare Company performance of Ben Johnson’s ‘The White Devil’ in Stratford upon Avon, he decided unequivocally to pursue theatre/film. Since that hallmarking moment, Pos has gone on to a career in network television, grand jury prize winning independent feature films, award winning Off-Broadway, regional and national touring stage plays/musicals, as well as national commercials, industrials and video games.

Still, it was his formative years growing up in ‘the Dec’ that he began a love/lust affair with hip-hop. He banded with a tight knit underground hip-hop crew that called themselves “The 40Thievz” and subsequently became known as the outfit “Select Personnel Productions”. “S.P.P.” spawned a number of solo artists/groups, albums, mixtapes, and weekly party events across metro Atlanta. With S.P.P., Postell produced 3 LP’s and 2 EP’s. Two of those LP’s, “Salsa From Hell” and “Portable Love” became widely regarded as underground hip-hop gems in the local ATL/Decatur music scene. Following an almost two year hiatus from making any rap music at all, Pos got his fire reignited and the results have ultimately culminated in the album “The Good Thief” (jimmie & wilson productions / q. brothers productions). “The Good Thief”, released independantly in 2007, is by far his most musically mature, introspective, sonic, stirring, lurid and raucous record to date.
